I recently completed a slide show using Sonic MYDVD. The project has two slide shows , one containing 85 slides and the other 325 slides. I introduced music as well as transitions . I timed the slides for 6 seconds. My question concerns the amount of time it took to go through the burn process. In the program after you have imported the photos and done the set up re transitions and music etc. there is a red button that says burn. From the time I clicked on this button it took approx. two and a half hours before the burn was completed and I had a DVD to play on the TV. I also noted that at 3 places in the longer slide show that there was a slight pause and the screen went black and then the slide show continued. Am I doing something wrong or is it the norm for something of this nature to take this long to complete?
    Thanks
    Ron

It's been a long time since I've used MyDVD, but any slide show program is going to be slow in turning your pictures into a DVD presentation. I've also used Ulead DVD Pictureshow, Memories on TV, and Ulead Video Studio. They all take time to generate the DVD files.
I don't know about the black screens and pauses, though. Make sure MyDVD has the most current patches and updates.

That delay harks back to the "maximum 99 pics per slideshow" rule that...up until recently...was normal. My old slideshow software still has this "Max 99" rule...so that would be my guess.

As far as completion time...that is a BIT on the slow side but when you consider what the software has to do...I wouldn't worry too much about it.
