  2. Bump.

This is a really good deal, $30 for 20 inkjet printables. Too bad it's only after mail in rebate. 3 days left to purchase for that rebate.

  3. I have been testing DL recently and posted results for Fujifilm dvd+r, DL which is available in 15 packs for $30. Most Fujifilm is made by Ricoh, but this was made by Ritek.

Most Verbatim DL is made by Mitsubishi, but Verbatim is not a manufacturer so it will be interesting to see the media code when it arrives Thursday.

The rebate is good if you purchase it from now until the end of the month(date of purchase should show on your invoice). You have 30 days after you purchase to file a rebate.

  6. I received and tested some of these Verbatim inkjet printables from Newegg for $1.50 each after rebate. They are MKM made in Singapore. The test results are very good.

    What you get,

    DvdInfoPro description,

This is a burn with DVD Author. The surprise is that these disks burn at X8 even though DvdInfoPro reports it as X6 media.

Well, Verbatim is owned by Mitsubishi Chemical, so by far most Verbatim media is MCC. In fact since the 8x days all Verbatim DVD media is MCC (in the US market anyway).

  8. I was aware that Verbatim is owned by Mitsubishi but what made me pause was the image displayed on the Newegg web site. It shows the media is made in Singapore. I have used Verbatim quite a bit before but it was not made there. Here is the image from Newegg.

Singapore is where MCC/MKM's optical disc manufacturing plant is. Anything from Taiwan is made by Prodisc or CMC to MCC's standards.

  10. Thanks for that info. I have burned a few more. They are very good, especially at that price. These are the first double layer, inkjet printables I have tried with my Epson R200. They take the ink very well.

  11. Here is the first bad burn with Verbatim. The disk actually plays and I have not been able to locate the position in time were the bad sectors lie to see what happens on playback. I used DVD Decrypter to do this burn to see how it handles the layer change but so far I have not been able to see it.

  12. I burned three of these Verbatim disks with the Sony DRU-820A and all three have similar problems near the end of the second layer. My suspicions were aroused when three burns from the Panasonic ES35V were checked and they were all perfect.

Updated the DRU-820A from firmware version 1a to 1b from the Sony web site produced a perfect burn, but the speed test in DvdInfoPro now looks different.
