  1. I had like such lines going through the image in my video, so i desided to deinterlace it so it would go away, i did it through VB, without dloading any plugin, just through the option that is given by VB, and it did work well, but on the other hand, it seemed to me that the image than became blocky, so i dloaded an MSU deblocker and tryed to drive my video through it, but i think the result was pretty much not too different, is there any thing i could dload to make my video better?

Why are you needing to deinterlace? Video that is watched on TV is interlaced. If it is an interlace problem while viewing on your PC, get WinDVD, or PowerDVD. Either one will play back interlaced video just fine...

Or VLC. Lots of de-interlace options, and its free.

  4. Or use VideoLan's player (VLC) which can deinterlace while playing and is free.

  5. no, i have number of video files, i don't know from where exactley they were ripped off, but they all have like this lines that go through the picture, and i menaged to remove that through "Deinterlacing" option in virtualDub, but for some reason 2 of the files are in perfect quality and the rest has lost the quality after deinterlacing, and i don't know why and is there a way to fix this? they've become kinda worse. i can see a difference bitween the perfect 2 and the rest.

they all were encoded with DivXNetworks DivX v5 codec.

and i have tryed watching them on powerDVD but the lines do not disappear.

If you got lots of macroblocks from Divx, and they weren't in the source, then you simply used too little bitrate.

  7. what's macroblocks? can you explain? i don't know what is this but i don't think that this is it, and what i see became worse it's more like the color, umm the quality is just a little lower...

  8. Also, if you still see these 'lines' in PowerDVD, it probably isn't an interlacing issue - PowerDVD should automatically remove that without any user intervention whatsoever.

It's been quite a while since I used PowerDVD but when I did it automatically deinterlaced when playing a DVD but did not when playing an MPEG file.

I watch my Hauppauge MPEG files in PowerDVD (version 4) and even animations are properly de-interlaced.

  11. i don't know... i dloaded the pwerDVD trial version and it doesn't take away the stripes of the video, if it's not a deinterlacing problem than what kind of a problem is it?

  12. Open your problematic file with VirtualDubMod. Use the slider and arrow keys to find a good example frame. Use Video -> Snapshot Source Frame to save it. Upload the image so everyone can see it.

  13. ok, i'll try, see the lines in the image:

I menaged to deinterlace it through VirtualDub, but the quality became worse, it lost contrast.

  17. hmmm, okkey, thank you i understand that this r the best result that i can get. thanks.

  18. I don't think it's the best you can get but it's a starting point. The video is in pretty bad shape so it's not ever going to get perfect. But you can try playing around with Temporal Smoother, VHS filter, etc.

By the way, VLC can deinterlace on the fly while playing. You have to start playing the file, then right click on the image and select Deinterlace followed by one of the options from the menu. Unfortunately, if you press Stop and then Play again, it reverts back to interlaced.
