I cannot successfully convert a QuickTime movie file to play on my son's PSP using ffmpegX. The PSP has firmware 2.0 and I have followed all the directions about creating the MP_ROOT/100MNV01 folder on the PSP.

-- When I try to convert to PSP, the conversion is instantaneous with a Zero KB file produced. After transfer to the PSP, the file shows up but cannot be played. I have tried all kinds of movie files and get this same result.

-- When I try to convert to PSP H.264, the conversion appears to be successful (I can even play back the file on my Mac), but after transfer to the PSP the file doesn't even show up.

    Help!

A log with error(s) might help with assistance.

  4. Try to use PSP H264, with video size=320x240, and transfer it to the PSP exactly like indicated at http://homepage.mac.com/major4/psph264.html

Hey! It worked! The only thing I did differently was to change the aspect ratio of the encoded video (as you indicated). Could that have been the problem?

    Anyhow - I'm a happy camper now - Thanks!
