I need a way to capture audio from a Mackie sound board. Right now I'm using a borrowed Layla 3G 16 input device and there is a soundcard in my computer to capture the sound. I also have Cubase to record. Now I have to give it back to the owner. I need a device that can take a single channel output from the soundboard and send it to my computer by firewire if possible. Around $200 is my budget.
I capture the audio seperate because I want to ensure the quality of the mixed signal that I'm recording. This way I can monitor the sound and adjust it as nescessary.

Dang I saw the reply too late. Oh well, the Mackie device looks good. Don't know about the price yet though. Thanks for the reply.
