Good afternoon, fellows. It's some months now that I'm using the HX710. I'm very satisfied with it, except a pair of unbelievable flaws which have been stubbornly left there. They're so evident that I guess they're almost intentional, just to piss you off.

The worst of all is how "title divide" and "A-B delete" functions work. You set the exact timing, you can even choose the specific frame and then... ZAC!!! You find out that it has left some poop before or after the choosen point. As the icing on the cake, the image freezes on the cut point when playing back the finalized dvd.

The second is the fact that Chapter numbers are not kept when moving titles from Hard Disk to dvd. Isn't that ridiculous? Why one would want to spend a lifetime in setting chapter points, if they're deleted while moving titles to the final dvd?

And don't you love how title's names are being cut at an unspecified length, so you've spent half an hour to set them via the remote control's tiny keybord just to end up with a crappy messed up table?

I would like to understand if these flaws (especially the first) are common to all dvd recorders or are instead a Sony's masterwork.

And can we hope to have them fixed with a newer internal software (may "firmware" be the correct name, perhaps?) or shall we live with them in peace forever?
