    New store-bought DVD skipping and hanging up on standalone Panasonic player which has never had a problem with anything I've thrown at it, including many scratched up rentals.

    Anyone else having this problem?

    that is a disney dvd, they are fairly well known for incompatabilities, maybe ya should call the 800 number on the disc and scream at them about it...
