I know a lot of people will just rent DVD's but those who still buy DVD's, what was your last DVD you bought and what is the next one you want?

    Mine was Wallace & Grommit

I'm tempted to buy King Kong Special Edition when it comes out

I watched Gattaca again just recently as I quite enjoyed it the first time. It's one of those films that does make you think about the future

The last DVD I bought was "A Passage To India" (an older David Lean film). And, I bought it in region 2 PAL format because, even with shipping added in, it was $10 cheaper to buy it from Amazon.co.uk than from Amazon.com. It helps to have a region-free DVD player.

The next DVD I buy is actually 2 "sets" of DVDs, 6 discs each. And I'll have to save up for it a little bit. It's season 1 & 2 of the TV show, "Dark Angel."

    Last one i bought was:
    Dune (Extended Edition)
I have had the import version for years but they only released it in fullscreen with stereo & they only had the standard 2h 16m version WS here.

They finally released it here, 2h 56m in WS with 5.1 audio & they definately restored and enhanced the video & it F'n kik's ass now!!

Thinking about picking up these now,
    UFO
I have some on VHS but they are older than the hills!!!

The other weekend I bought a ton of dvds 3 for 10 at EB Games.

    Matrix Revolutions
    The Core
Jurassic Park - The Lost World

The entire second season of Stargate

    The Haunting
Donatello - The Shredder? Michelangelo - Maybe all that hardware is for making coleslaw?

    Hmm.....

Not really sure. I have to start watching all the movies I haven't watched in awhile

I've been thinking about getting some of the special edition Star Trek movies with the newer commentary. Maybe 3 or 6.

hmmm, is that worthy of a poll?

do you ever listen to the commentary soundtracks on DVD's?

I sometimes do but it's mostly been on Series DVD's rather than movies

I'm glad you mentioned that. I didn't even check aspect ratios (blush). Sure enough, Amazon.com's versions are pan/scan - but Amazon.co.uk's versions are 16:9. And guess what else (grin)???

Amazon.com's discount price for both sets is $76.98. But Amazon.co.uk's price, after currency conversion, is $75.44. And shipping being as cheap as it is, I think I'll get mine from England. It'll end up being a little bit more. But, heck, it'll be worth it. Wonder why the U.S. DVD release was pan/scan???

My suspicion is that import duties, if any, are taken care of by Amazon.co.uk (and figured into their price). They do a lot of shipping to the U.S. and, in all of my orders, have never heard a peep about import taxes.
