Dunno if this is the right place to put this question, if not then feel free to shoot me.

Okay, thought I was pretty good with electronics until I recently purchased a Wharfedale 5.1 surround home system. The installation guide seemed pretty reasonable but at the end of everything I have only 2 satellite speakers working. Bass is dead and so is the front speaker...ARGH! Could someone please help here? I have tried pretty much everything but alas!

I have installed the yellow AV cable, plugged in all the speakers where they are supposed to be and connected the amplifier to the dvd player by means of what looks like an old COM2 port cable. Thats all I got from the shop, should I have gotten/bought something else?

Thanks in advance for any help someone may offer.

    Cheers.[/b]

Well for digital surround sound you need a rca cable to hook up the coaxial digital input if your dvd player and receiver have that option. OR you need a fiber optic cable to go from optic to optic input.

Awesome yoda, thanks for the help.

Pity the buggers don't include that in the packaging... Would be awefully nice of them.

P.S. good to see we still have Aerosmith fans in our midst
