  1. Hey I am ripping a DVD with DVDx. How much memory will it take. Someone told me 8 gig. Is this right?

    It depends how you do it....

    Follow this and you don't need 8 gb of harddisk

    memory as in RAM?...RAM doesn't affect encode time, so basically a min of 128 should do.

  5. SteveDVD, if u don't wanna take any chances, just use the time-tested method of smartripper->dvd2avi->tmpgenc

    just get a bigger hdd..they're really cheap now...i've seen 40 gigs for less than $100
