    I downloaded an mpg4 movie that I can play in QT but unable to burn to DVD....no luck. The -2048 error message I was getting occured when trying to play a movie that was not completed.

    That error message simply tells you that the file is screwed, try a different file.

    If the error message came up while you were still dl, then wait until it finishes.
