My Hauppauge software has an excellent capture scheduler. I have scheduled the recording of 5 TV shows every weekday. Al long as the computer is on, it will do this, five times a day, every weekday. Occasionally, I add other programs that need to be recorded just once and it does this too, without needing to reset the 5 that record every weekday.
Now my problem. The smallest file it records in is mpeg. Quality is not an issue and wmv format would be good enough and so much smaller. Converting takes too much time.
I have been looking for a capture device that will capture to wmv and that also has the scheduler ability like my Hauppauge scheduler has. Is there anything like this available?
Thanks,
paul

check out the capture software in the tools section.
RE: wmv captures, if wmv isn't a choice in your capture app, might be able to use the wmv9 vcm from microsoft. Otherwise consider xvid, divx, mp4 etc., which all give small file sizes.
