OK, All I want to do is post a printscreen.
So, I get to the screen that I want, and hit the little button that has Prt/Scr on it.
Then I open Paint and hit like Edit/Paste, and there it is.
Then I hit SAVE, give it a stupid name and choose JPEG, save it in MyDocuments along with everything else that I have saved over the last six plus or minus years, and there it is.
I come here and go to the test page. I start a new thread or open one of my old ones.
I browse to the file, select and copy the name without any spaces
I go back to the message body area and hit IMG
I paste and then hit the close tag
hit submit
wait
and the thing doesnt show? EERRRRRR!
OK one was way too big, but I have been trying a few different filetypes and watching the sizes. How do I resize a file in paint and not have it look like crap? How do I comfirm that the file is actually what the extension says it is? How did I get into this mess? Why can't I stop? Why me? Why?

..and no ''_" in the filename either. Save as jpg at no more than 500x500 pixels for a good fit (right click on graphic file and choose Properties/Summary/Advanced for pixel size). Also use MS Paint's Image/Stretch & Skew to resize but at no more than 70% (a 30% reduction) or 85% if showing text. In addition, if saving from a video source like a DVD, you have to disable overlay use by your media player.
Paint for MS 2000 won't allow for jpg's. In XP make sure the file security settings are not set for encryption.
-edit-
Don't make the mistake of saving a jpg as by typing ".jpg" or you will end up with the right filename but the wrong format (bmp). Always "Save As" and select the file type from the bottom drop down list. Don't add the file extension yourself, to be safe. -

and you can see why I say that I have issues.
Sometimes, acorrding to my properties, my files are under the 150 limit, but when I post I see a quick flash that says it was too big. (Yes I have blundered and let a huge one slip past, oops)
Another time, long ago, my file extensions were not what my PC said they where. (That took Shadowmistress to figure out, thanks)
And sometimes in the past it has gone smooth as silk, no probablemos
I am already pretty certian that my cad program saves things in some bastard format that it calls something to the effect of "JPG for Windows" because it has caused greif in other adventures. And my cameras version of a JPG has the curse of Sony attached to it.
All I want is a clear enough and large enough shot to come thru. I'll keep chipping away at the stoneIS IT SUPPOSED TO SMOKE LIKE THAT? -

AOL USER.............DIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
AOL makes hoof & mouth seems like a simple canker sore. when comparing what kind of damage it can do to you. When the Plague hit France, people would have cheered for it had AOL been introduced to their lives. It is a vile and diseased program that should be burned and forgotten about.
A friend of mine just cancelled it and AOL was going to charge a $15 cancelation fee. After 50 minutes (not including the 22 minute hold time before speaking to an operator) they finally canceled it without him having to pay the fee. That fee was total BULLS**T! -
I have seen aol attach itself to every file in the computer, so that if you wanted to remove it, you had to reformat.
I have also witnessed aol causing a computer to lose internet connectivity when aol was uninstalled.
aol is evil.Believing yourself to be secure only takes one cracker to dispel your belief. -
LOL!!!
Yep, i was talking to my buddie on the phone a little bit ago telling him about this thread/AOL comments, he used to have AOL and i always teased him about it for years and he finally got rid of it a couple of years ago, and he said "no shit!!! it took me forever to get rid of all that shit after i dumped it" -
AOL is the Anti-Christ.
It is the evil demon spirit of condemnation towards intelligence.
Satan is the prison bitch to AOL.
