Standalone DVD player can't read DL disc?

Finally burned my first DL disc successfully. These are what I did:

1) Rip DVD-9 movie to HDD using DVDFab Decrypter
2) Import files using Nero Recode 2
3) Analyze / Encode / Burn the uncompressed files with Nero Recode 2

The burned DL disc works fine on my computer but it doesn't work on my standalone DVD players (Koss, Panasonic). Is this normal or I did something wrong that makes it incompatible? Thanks!

Yes. You used Nero. Try using RecordNow 7, or if you are backing-up a commercial DVD use DVDDecrypter in ISO mode and burn with IMGBurn.

Both DVDDecrypter and ImgBurn keep crashing on my system.

Try to turn off DEP (Data Execution Prevention) if you are on Win XP with SP2. It should help with running DVDDecrypter and ImgBurn. Please let us know if it helped. Thanks.

Start -> Control Panel -> System -> Advanced tab -> Settings button in Performance section -> Data Execution Prevention tab -> Turn on DEP for essential Windows programs and services.

DEP is already off except for essential Win programs.

BTW, why is Nero Recode 2 causing the compatibility problem? This software is such a breeze to use. Thanks!

I don't think that its recode that's the problem. It's the way Nero burns the DVDs. Someone can probably get into more detail than I can, but the consensus is don't use Nero for DL burning.
