Hi there, im from the uk and i have a HDTV, and with being in the uk they is now way yet to get HD signal, well not until April anyway.
What i would like to know is that i have some round the internet some xvids that have being recorded from a HD source from other countries, now these recordings are in the XVID format, if i was toget one off these and convert it to dvd them play it back, will this be like watching a true HD tv program?

No. If you convert to DVD you will lose the hd resolution (if the xvids are in hd resolution then). If you want to keep them in HD get a HTPC or a dvd player with divx/xvid hd support.
