Capture Devices suddenly stopped working?

All of sudden none of my dv capturing software works. When I
run WinDv, the camera starts but the screen remains black and I get a run time error. The software that came with my camera, Image Mixer doesn't even recognize my camera? I tried a system restore to no avail. Any help would be appreciated.

You might try restoring to an earlier time if it's an XP machine.

Try a forum search in the HDV and DV forum for 'camera, recognize' and you should see quite a few hits and some ideas or cures. It's a common problem with many possible causes.

And DV transferring is not capturing. It's a stream transfer from the camera to the computer via the Firewire interface. Moving you to HDV and DV.
