sounds like it's a disc image. you can install daemon tools and mount the img file as a virtual dvd-rom and the dvd before burning it. you should be able to burn it through nero, dvd decrypter and many other dvd burning applications.

Just use ImgBurn to write to disk.

Just download the freeware program ImgBurn which is the updated version of DVD Decrypter except ImgBurn is only for burning.

You do NOT have to mount the IMG file first in order to burn it.

However if you mount the IMG file using for instance Daemon Tools then you can watch it using PowerDVD or WinDVD or WMP etc. whereas you cannot do that with the IMG file alone, unmounted.

Well burning it to a DVD disc will create a standard DVD Video disc assuming whomever created the IMG file did it correctly.

I'm assuming this is something you downloaded as you seem to know nothing about it.

It could have been done wrong (the creation of the IMG file) but I'd say that is a slight possibility at best.

Generally if it is an IMG file it is a standard DVD Video although keep in mind it could be PAL format or NTSC format.

It won't kill you to download Daemon Tools (it is freeware) and test playing it to make sure it is A-OK and what you want before burning it to a DVD disc.

YES. Just burn it to a dvdr (or dvdrw) provided its a DVD Video. Play on your standalone dvd player. You can burn with DVD Decrypter as mentioned.

To just watch an img file on your computer, you can use VLC media player. It can be downloaded and is free.
