I downloaded 0.0.9v excited about finally encoding h.264 for my PSP. However, using the PSP h.264 preset I can't encode anything that my PSP will accept. I tried several combos of options and stuck with the usual 320x240 or 368x208 for 16:9 but still nothing. When I transfer the movie file onto my PSP in the 100ANV01 folder I created in MP_ROOT, my PSP tells me that it is unsupported and won't play. I have firmware 2.60. Anybody else having this problem?

  2. What was your source video? And have you tried the straight preset without changing any options? The only problem I'm having right now is getting the right audio channel from a VOB. Add Audio doesn't work, so demuxing isn't an option. :\

All other videos I've done work great, slightly lower bitrate, but much higher quality.

    I figured out my problem.

For you, I suggest demuxing, then remuxing the video and the audio track you want so only one audio track exists before you encode.

  4. Tried that, ffmpegX is telling me that the ac3 file is "unrecognizable" when I try to remux.

Sure would be nice just to have the add audio functionality back. Makes Automator / scripted workflows so much easier.

I have the same problem. I am running firmware 2.00 and when i go to view the file the PSP says 'unsupported' or something to that effect.

  7. Are you leaving audio at 48kHz?

I didn't focused on the audio track.
    So it might be 48KHz

I left everything as it is, should this not be the case?

I just tried with 24KHz sample rate (same in the "old" PSP preset) and it doesn't change anything...

Hmmm i just tried it with a different vob file and tried again but still the PSP rejects it

  12. I mention it because mpeg4 works with 24kHz audio, but h.264 must be left at 48kHz (at least on the PSP).

Has anyone got it to work? What did you do? The only change i realised i made was to tick the option 'two-pass encoding'.

  14. I had various clips tested on a PSP 2.00 and on a 2.60 and they all worked. If you find some issue, send me a bugreport to major4@mac.com including a) source clip b) encoded clip not working c) copy of process output (blue "i" icon in the Progress window). Send the video clips by using yousendit.com.

I'm finding that sometimes an encoded video will play, other times the PSP rejects it. So far I can't find any similarities between the accepted videos and the rejected.
