I've made a movie using Adobe Premiere, as I often do, however, a rather bizzare problem seem to have appeared this time.

The movie is around 2.25 GB (.m2v file & I've no clue why Adobe has made such a file extention) with audio of .wav format & overall is just under 1 hours & 30 min.

When I see the folder I can see TWO different files i.e. video & audio, as I'd always seen with my other works in the past. However, I wonder WHY am I seeing "Nero ShowTime File" type, as opposed to my usual Windows Media Player icon next to the file name.

The problem however is that when I "Add Video" & then Add Audio in the Nero (as I'd always done in past), I set 6 chapters, but when I preview any chapter, I can ONLY see the video starting from the START however, the audio that I can hear is of that particular chapter.

For example, I have Chapter 1 with starting point "Guest Arrival", Chapter 2 with starting point from "Food Served" & Chapter 3 starting from "Birthday Cake". Now, when I press Chapter 3 in the preview (in NeroExpress), I can see the video starting from "Guest Arrival" but the audio I hear is of "Birthday Cake" ???

It's a rather peculiar problem, I've encountered so far. I wonder, if anyone around could help me with this headache.

    1) m2v is the general extension for mpeg2 video elementary stream.
    2) Nero has simply hijacked the file extensions from Windows Media Player, that's why it gets the Nero icon.
    3) Nero has never been (and I doubt will ever be) the authoring app of choice. Try TMPGEnc DVD Author, or some of the great free contributions like DVDAuthorGUI or GUI For DVDAuthor.

Any idea as how do I revert it back to Windows Media Player as default player, as opposed to Nero ???

Additionally, it all was working perfectly well, up until I worked on my last project, exactly the same way as I've been this time, but I wonder why am I getting these setbacks in Chapters.

I'll try the TMPGEnc DVD Author in the mean time.

You set the default app for a certain extension by using the Tools menu in explorer (not Internet explorer) - Folder Options, File types - Locate the file extension you want to change default app for, click Change button, and pick Windows Media Player.

Thanks for your help. I managed to use TMPG DVD Author rather successfully & the smashing thing about it is that it takes around 15-20 min. to burn it on the DVD, as opposed to well over 3-4 hours in Nero.

If Nero requires 3-4 hours to author a DVD, it's surely reencoding your sources in the process. Not a good idea, if the sources are already in the correct format (as they obviously are, since TDA accepts them).

Yes, you are right & Nero DOES re-encode it again, which Adobe Premiere does it anyway.

By the way, I've had a question asked recently asking others to recommend DVD Author, however, I can't see that Thread now.

In fact, every time I check my posted thread is through the e-mail link I receive when someone posts the reply, however, I wonder how could I possibly check the thread that I start, straight from this website. Any idea ???
