I'm having a problem with my recorder Toshiba RD-SX32 recognizing DVD-r (TDK). The unit was powered down for a few months and when I powered it back up it started having problems. Before I powered it down it would recognize the same brand disk, even off of the same spool. I have tried Verbatim and memorex. It is hit and miss with all three brands. It recognizes DVD-RW's just fine and records great. When it does recognize the DVD-R disk the first couple of chapters did not play. Very strange. If anyone has an idea I would really appreciate it. Toshiba recommended powering it down for 3 minutes. I did that but again results are erratic. I hope this post is not too lenghty but I wanted to try and give enough details to get help.
