Newbie question - I listen to a lot of prerecorded radio shows on the internet and would like to save them to my computer - ibook, G4, 1.33GHz, 512 MB DDR SDRAM. The files are streaming RealPlayer format but the only part of the file I can save is the URL. Is it possible to save the entire file onto my own computer?

I know there is a program I have used called net transport that has managed to do this, but doesnt always work. Depends on the site I think and how it does it but I have captured a few streaming things. I dont know about real player media but look it up and give it a try as it works sometimes.

Best I can do, good luck

You could capture the stream using a program such as Audio Magic or purchase the full version of RealPlayer.

    Moody, yes.
You need to get an application for the mac called
Audio Hijack Pro. With it, you can record the streams to your
hard drive as an AIFF, WAV or Mp3 file, by "hijacking"
the audio stream as it plays on your mac.

I use the application for all types of audio captures,
not just Real Media, but also for grabbing snippets of
    audio from DVDs i own.

  8. Wiretap also does this. Some of its features are free—simply recording in a variety of formats—while you can pay for more fatures (removal of silence at beginning and ened of clip, for example.)
