  1. Hi,

I've just purchased the above player and am having a problem playing files on a DVD-R that are .mpg files. My old player (an H&B DX3220) lists all the files on the disc and I can just hit play and it plays fine (I'm doing this now), but when I put it into the Samsung, the file box comes up but it is empty!

Is there something special you have to do or does the player need a particular filename extension?

    Any help gratefully received.

Not all players support raw mpg file playback. I doubt that it can be "fixed" via firmware. Most likely it is some other issue, such as media.

This player however DOES support playback of both MPG and DIVX.

I found the issue and it is if the file is over 2Gb in size, it will NOT play it. Totally useless for me. I could see a firmware fix correcting this, but unlikely to happen IMO.

The player has since been returned (it went faulty in other ways anyway).
