  1. I was trying to convert 1 chapter (1 only need this one) to a pretty standard format so that I can put it on a site of my sportclub. So I thought MPG would be the easiest way. If there's something better/easier, feel free to let me know.
The thing is, I'm no DVD converting expert or anything, so I just picked a couple of guides to solve my problem.
I demuxed the VOB file using ReJig (IFO mode) to a WAV file and an M2V file.
Then I tried merging these to an mpg file, this obviously didn't work, so I converted to WAV file to an AC3 file using BeLight and then I tried to merge them using TMPGEnc. Now I guess I was just lucky or something, cuz this worked in some sort of way, but not really the way it should be, since the sound is a little bit behind with the video, and then the biggest problem of it all. When I select my file in Win Explorer, Explorer stops responding and gives an error, I can still open the file with VLC Player (that's why I know it's a little off), but not with Win Media Player.

Any suggestions/tips/help on how I can fix my problem, or do it better/easier?

    Thanks a lot!

mpeg2 isn't that good for sites. it requires a mpeg2 codec /player and it is huge.

i would convert to wmv using for example virtualdubmpeg2 ->avi -> windows media encoder.

  3. I don't have any MPEG2 movies on this computer but the MPEG1 movie that I have can be converted to mwv using:

    Windows Movie Maker

This comes free with Windows XP. It's worth a try.
