Hello,
I am new to all the this dvd recording stuff and am looking for some help. Just bought a Samsung DVD Recorder and want to record a different channel while watching another, set up timer...etc....
Can someone please give me the logistical setup of everything? I have DirecTV HD receiver with a DVD recorder plus a TV (of course). I tried to do it but all I got was a snow storm on DVD.
Thanks!!!

You can't. If you had a Direct-TV dvr with dual channel, you could archive your recordings to dvd.
Or, get another receiver. Record with one, watch with another.TANSTAAFL -
I guess I am confused on how to get it working properly. When I record, do I set the DVD recorder on the channel I want to record or do I set the DirectV to the channel I want to record or do I put the DVD recorder on Channel 3?????....etc.......????
Thanks! -
You set your dvd recorder to the same channel as you set your TV. You set the channel you want to record on your receiver.
Your dvd recorder can not interpret the satellite channels on its own. That's why you can't record one channel and watch another.TANSTAAFL
