  1. I found a file on my computer I converted awhile ago using TMPGEnc. But I do not remember if I converted this mpg to a DVD NTSC (mpeg 2) file or converted this mpg to a VCD (mpeg 1) file. Is there a way to tell using TMPGEnc? I tried right clicking properties but it doesnt tell me.

Do most USA dvd players, such as Sony, Panasonic or Samsung play vcds also? Or is it the no name brands that play vcds (along with dvds)?

Pretty much any DVD player will play VCDs. Moreover, the VCD resolution and bitrate form part of the DVD spec, so you can author this file into a DVD for playback.

Use the latest beta of G-Spot to determine if it is VCD or DVD material
