    Hi I just installed the latest version of this software. When I load a preset do I want to use vcd(ffmpegx) or vcd(mpeg2enc)? Thanks

    The first has better quality and speed but some players don't handle it well, so you will have to test with your player first.

    Thank You. I've run across another issue, when I encode a video and it completes it will play in quicktime but there is no sound. Do I have to mux the audio and video together or does ffmpegx auto do this?

    If the audio is ac3 then it is normal as Quicktime does not play it. Otherwise, you must provide more details about the file and the process output.

    Quicktime plays the avi file no problem, but after I encode it the video is mpg and the audio is mp2. They are seperate files. For a PC, avicodec tells you file information. is there anything like that for a MAC.
