    Do you buy/rent direct-to-DVD movies?

Any good direct-to-DVD movies you've seen recently? I think I've seen one in the past year and it was okay. Don't remember the title. It had to do with an invisible monster, I think.

I generally stay away from direct-to-video movies. If its not worth putting in the theaters why should I bother?? (tv shows are different obviously )

If the movie sounds good, then I either rent/buy depending on the price.

  8. I don't know if I have or not. I once watched a film called Ninja The Protector at my mates house when we had all had "a few drinks" and it was 4AM. Not sure if something that bad would have been put into cinemas.

I rent. After I see it once, I generally don't care to see it again. This is one reason I don't understand people who rent 1000 movies and copy them all. Or people that buy 100s of movies. Pack rats.

  10. I buy a few DVDs - some like Lock, Stock & Two Smoking Barrels, Snatch, Terminator 2, Gladiator, The Matrix - all the ones that are really very good, and it is nice to have them on DVD (plus, it supports development of more films like that, I hope).

Some direct to DVD titles really suck ("Starship Troopers 2") and some others aren't too bad ("Eye See You"). Sometimes, you can get some really great B-Grade horror films. In fact, I would say that 90% of the horror released today is Direct-To-DVD... and rated R!!!

No... I still don't buy them.
