DVD Decrypter locking up at about 50% of the write, Is this...

...a sotfware problem or a sh*t disc problem. I have been using dvd decrypter and shrink to backup my collection with Verbatim(dual layer) and Taiyo Yuden(single layer) blanks with flawless performance. Then I saw a great deal and decided to get some Ritek Ridata Double Layer DVD+R and the trouble began. Now on about every third disc Decrypter locks up at about 50% of the write.
Does anyone else have this problem? Has anyone found a solution? If it's the discs then its not really a problem, I will simply stop buying the crap. However, I wanted the forums opinion on this issue before I write off the brand.

Ahhh, that's what I was afraid of...a relief really tho. But an easy problem to fix. I'll just go back to verbatim dual layers.
BTW, does anyone know a reliable mailorder outlet (I currently use supermediastore) to get a 20 pack of Verbatim dual layers for under 74 bucks? If so, I'm all ears.

OK, so who sells reliable DL media in Canada? Everything I have seen gives me sticker shock.

I don't know about mailordering them, but you can buy a 3-pack of them for $11.88 at Wal Mart. That's $83.16 for 21 of them, and if you could buy 20 of them it would be $79.20 plus tax. Assuming 6% sales tax, that would be about $83.95 for 20 ($88.15 for 21). That's only $10.00 more for 20 of them than the price you are asking about. I don't know how much you would pay for shipping from an online or mail-order seller, and you would have to buy 21 from Wal Mart instead of 20. In any case, if you just go to Wal Mart, you could walk away with them right then instead of waiting for shipping. Also,at Wal Mart each disk comes in its own jewel case. I'm pretty sure a 20-pack online would be a stack in a cake box.
