  1. Anyone else experienced, data corruption on discs with time?
My dvd players just grind to a holt. What period of time could
I expect dvd copies to keep their stored data viable?

The discs are free from heat and light, the discs concerned
    are DVD +RW.

  4. I believe they are PC Worlds own brand, not sure of the orignal
    manufacturer.

Recordings on Sony and Imation discs seem fine at present.

Unless you can avoid it don't shop at PC World. They are over priced, the own brand is low quality and the staff know bugger all! There are plenty of good retailers in the UK without resorting to PC World.

For media check out svp.co.uk one of the best companies in the UK. You'll find a lot better disks for a lot less

    Just one example....
PC World own brand DVD-R....£9.99 per 25
    At SVP...Verbatim (Taiyo Yuden) £6.47 per 25

Nope. Can't say I have any corrupt discs even amongst those approaching a decade in age.

    Agreed.

fouplay, being based in the UK, I NEVER buy blank media from high street stores like PC World, Dixons, Currys etc... They sell inferior blank media at sky high prices. Even branded ones are a rip off.

There line of brand is terrible and a rip off compared to what you can get online.

Ive always used SVP and would recommend it to anyone.

Sounds like you've got a bad case of "Crap Disc".

You can remedy this by not buying "Crap Media".

In my experience, most store branded media falls into the "Crap Media" category.

You need to get the id on that disk and post your problems with that media under DVD Media
