    it is supposed to be not legal to do that in the USA , but to back one up -- you use cdrwin or clonecd (prob. other software would work) ...

    to MAKE one- you need cdrwin and a plextor burner and some pretty hard to get software ..

  3. I do have both of those programs you mentioned. The burner i have is a TDK DVD+r 420n. I have tried clonecd, and the outcome was the audio was there, but no graphics were displayed. Is there another program out there that i can try?

  4. Try Alcohol 120%. Also, your CD or DVD burner must be able to read and write CD+G format. Run DVDInfoPro software and see if CD+G format is checked (compatible) under drive information.

  7. I had done it only once using DVDShrink to rip, Nero 6 to burn (dvd-r) and it worked fine. My burner is a Sony DRX-510UL.

    Byronleehk-

    what does that have to do with CD+G karaoke? are you sure you're posting to the right thread?

    Others-

    CDRWin has good features for this.

    ---edit: oops, BJ_M said it 1st.
    Try tyranosoft.com (sp?) or an app called PowerKaraoke for making 'em. (not free)

  9. Download and install Clonecd. Then open Windows Notepad. Copy and paste this:

    [CloneCD ReadPrefs]
    ReadSubData=1
    RegenerateData=1
    ReadSubAudio=1
    AbortOnReadError=0
    FastErrorSkip=2
    ReadSpeedData=0
    ReadSpeedAudio=0
    IntelligentBadSectorScan=1
    SectorSkip=100
    NoErrorReport=0
    FirstSessionOnly=1
    AudioQuality=3

    Into notepad. Save as "CD+G.CCP" Copy the file into the PROFILES directory of CloneCD. When you open CloneCD to read from the disk, select CD+G. After it has made the file Write the file with CloneCD. This has worked great for me. Good Luck.

  11. I asked the very same question on this forum once with no response. I searched on different forums and found out that Alcohol 120% is the best software for making backup copies of CD+G disks. I tried Alcohol 120%, and it worked! However, as I mentioned earlier, the reader and burner must be CD+G format compatible. I used my Optorite DD0203 DVD burner for both creating image file and recording from image file. When I run DVDInfoPro and select my Optorite burner, it shows check mark under CD+G reading support. There is no box for CD+G writing support, but the burner did its job. The backup copy of the CD+G disk plays just fine on Karaoke player. I tried to burn the same image file with Hi-Val 48x24x48 CD burner, and the disk was not recognized by Karaoke player. The Hi-Val burner does not show CD+G compatibility in DVDInfoPro.

    P.S. One thing I noticed though: video is slightly out of sync with audio during playback of last songs.

    Note: My Yamaha and Teac CD burners can read+write CD+G (most of their models can).

    However, for those who can read-but not write CD+G-a good solution would be to get an app called cdg2avi and convert to HuffYUV as a temp file, then go on to convert to (S)VCD or DVD the usual ways. Then it will be playable on most everything (though not on CD Audio players anymore).

    P.S.--if you're still interested in a CD burner that can do CD+G, look for "DAO96" capability. That means it can also control and burn the full R-W subcode.

  13. I'ts pretty simple to create cd+g karaoke disks, but as has been mentioned before onlycertain writers can read and write them. I bought a plextor which does it perfectly. I use cdrwin and mp3+g toolz to do it. There are some things I can't put in this message so if anyone wants to no how to do it pm me.
