I never posted in the other thread, although i also know they do this and have seen evidence of it more than once.
But here is a problem i just had with them.
I had westworld on my cue, it said it shipped 12-29-05 "thursday" and the expected arrival was 1-03-06, today/tuesday, well it did not come.....
So i just checked my cue and it was gone, not on my cue anymore ??
So i checked my history, there is was, said it was returned today![]()
Now how the hell did i get it and return it by today, the estimated arrival date to me while the post has been closed here over the weekend for 3 days for new years![]()
Sent them an e-mail bitching and that they just screwed me out of a week of rental time and a movie![]()
Will see what they respond![]()

Are you suggesting that a US postal worker would tamper with the mail?

I have had numerous "weird" things happen with them.
The thing is, they said the movie was shipped on 12-29-05, thursday,
It was estimated to arrive on 1-03-06, tuesday.
It did not arrive, tuesday night i check my queue, it say's it was returned 01-03-06 tuesday the day it was to arrive to me......
Now the post office here was closed sat.-sun.-mon.
that was a pretty damned fast turnaround!!! seeing as i NEVER even got the damn thing
The little post office elves must have been working overtime to get me that disc and get it back with all those days closed
And i still have not heard a damn thing back from customer service!!

It most likely was returned to them because your address got all screwed up. If you notice lately, they're not closing envelopes up very well, and the USPS machines can tear apart loose-leaf mail. I'm sure verybody has gotten a destroyed magazine at least once, same concept. The other issue is the ink on those netflix labels can smear easy, but their return is printed into the actual envelope, so it won't rub off.
The likely culprit here is your mail got destroyed, and it was returned. How did netflix know it was yours? Easy, barcodes on the DVD sleeves. They are unique to each disc.
Now netflix may not have known it was destroyed in transit. They may have assumed it was destroyed on the return trip, so that's why they didn't send you a new one automatically.
No conspiracy, just a bit of bad luck. No reason to fuss, just add it back to your queue, slap it up on the top spot, and better luck on the next go.
FYI, the post office still movies mail 24/7/365(366). THe mail never stops for any reason. Offices and deliveries may have holidays, but not the movement of mail. At most, they reduce hours on certain days. And then netflix does not necessarily check in discs the day they arrive, they may sit in a queue for a day, to be sorted for restock and re-send.
Netflix not getting back to you yet? Well, I guess that all depends on their response volume and number of workers available. That happens anywhere, especially banks. If they don't get back to you in after about 5 days, then complain about that issue. Remember this is just movies, not a life and death matter, so there is no urgency given to anybody, just casual business as usual.Want my help? Ask here! (not via PM!)

This happened once to me too. My next door neighbor has Netflix, and occasionally, the postman sends the disk to the wrong place.
