  1. I usually use TMPEnc to convert my avi or dvd to vcd, but have been wanting to use Nero to do this. Using Nero Vissionexpress I can import the video files , edit the movie etc. and since I want to make a XVCD I use the EXPORT function to export to a mpeg-1 file. This is fine as I can select the video codec and set my bitrate, but the audio portion is greyed out and is set to 244K i.e. VCD standard. How can I change this.

Now I realize I might be using the wrong Nero program to start with and selecting VCD in NVE MEANS that the audio is supposed to be 244k. I guess what I need is to know how to use the correct Nero program to convert .avi or DVD to Mpeg-1 for burning as a VCD ( I use VCDeasy to author my VCD's).

    Any help would be appreciated.

Wyour rationale for switching to Nero from TMPGEnc? For VCD, there's nothing much better than the TMPGEnc/VCDEasy combo. When it comes to encoding VCD, Nero sux.

  3. No particular reason, just wanted to try it. I also wanted to try using Nero to convert files to avi, but again still run into the audio problem. Still trying to figure out how to add codecs to Nero. I had a coded showing for mp3 at one time, but after updating to most recent nero it is no longer showing in the nero selection dropdown for audio. I tried reinstalling the codec but didn't do anything.
