haha its bullshit, I have still have discs from 97 and they all work fine, even the Kodak Golds (allthough most of them are maxells).
and for dvd's, my ritekg04's from august 03 still can with results of 92, so that isn't bad either.
i will mention i had some cheap mitsui cdrs in my big cd wallet/case in the car this summer, and out of all the cds that were in that pouch that summer, only the mitsui's friedthe ritek cdrs and memorex's cdrs were fine.
for everything else, they just stay at room temperature and out of the sun, and they seem fine.
