I have an mp4 I would like to encode to MPEG2 for DVD via TMPGEnc Plus. The file has AAC audio, which is not a problem, and these other characteristics:
I've tried demuxing the video and encoding that alone with no success.
I've tried frameserving the video through VirtualDubMod with no success.
I could encode the video to XviD or some other codec and then encode that to MPEG2, but would rather not. I could decompress the video to raw avi and encode that to MPEG2, but I don't have 66 GB of free space. Thanks in advance.

I can open and encode an AVC mp4 fine with TMPGEnc here. Try using ffdshow to decode the video and limit the output to RGB24.
Frameserving with VDubMod? Looks like you are frameserving to VDubMod via AVISynth, so that would be mp4-->AVISynth-->VDubMod. I fail to see the point when you could frameserve directly to TMPGEnc, no need for VDub. -
Thanks for the response celtic_druid, my ffdshow must have been out of date. I had to uninstall my existing version and fully install the new one for it to work properly though. No more problems!
Sorry if I used incorrect video grammer on my post. I meant to say that I tried opening the file in VirtualDubMod using the DirectShowSource AviSynth template, start the frame server, then open the vdr file in TMPGEnc Plus. It has seemed to work in the past when I was unable to open a file directly in TMPGEnc Plus.
