I installed a dvd burner in a friends computer. I also got him dvdshrink ver. 3.2.0.15 and dvd decrypter 3.5.4.0 which is exactly what I use. We tried to backup fantastic four using shrink several times and it would freeze up at around 1-2% on the same picture every time. His computer had some spyware and other problems anyway so I took it and reformatted it and reinstalled xp sp2 and went back. Tried to back up miami vice and it started encoding same scene 3 times, went to the menus and froze up on the same picture every time. Decided to rip it to hd first--used decrypter and ripped fine, plays fine. Used shrink and it repeated exactly what it did before. Even froze up on the same picture as coming straight from the disc. When it freezes it freezes the whole computer and has to be rebooted using reset. Tried spiderman and it froze up on the analyzing portion. Also told it to create iso file and no difference. Any suggestions? I've used these programs a long time and never had anything like this. I built the computer over a year ago and it's been doing fine. It's an old p3 1gig, 256 ram but mine is a celeron 850. It can't be the burner or media since it also does it from the hd and doesn't make it that far. Neither of us is heavily into video as a hobby, we just want to make a backup of dvd's and the free all in one programs are what we are looking for. Would like to make shrink/decrypter work.

  2. Why dont you guys try dvdfab decrypter. Also anything like finger prints or scratches on the disc itself?
Life is like a pothole, you just have to learn to get around it.

You might want to tell your friend to spend $150 and get a new setup. I put together this morning a AMD64 2800+, Chaintech Socket 754 Board, and 512MB DDR for that price. Parts bought from Newegg.com
