I am producing DVD’s with TMPGEnc DVD Author 1.6. When I play them on my Panasonic DMR-ES10EB after several minutes into the playtime the picture starts distorting, then freezes. I manage to resume play, then it the same thing happens again (not in the same place though). When the same disc is played on both my Hitachi portable DVD player and my PC I get no problem. Also, my Panasonic has no problem playing commercially produced DVD’s. Can anyone offer a solution to this?

Considering you probably paid 3 times as much for the Panasonic recorder than the portable....I'd say hook up a seperate DVD Player to watch your DVD's and save the expensive kit for what it does best/was designed for/you bought it for....recording.
You could also simply switch brands of DVD blanks or switch from + to - or - to +.

I didn't want to mess around with my recording/playback setup of which the Panasonic is an integral component. However re-writing the offending DVD's using Sony -R seems to have done the trick. Thank you.
