    Im looking for a program to tell me the formats eg: VCD. SVCD, dimensions, frames per second, audo bitrate and so on, on mpeg,avi,wmv files ??

    You could start with thel latest version of Gspot. There are some others listed in 'Tools': https://www.videohelp.com/tools?s=38#38

    I'll second GSpot - but make sure you get the latest version as redwudz said. Last time I looked it was a beta for v2.52.

    Also, AVICodec might float your boat. I often use that too.

    AVICodec is compatible with a few more file formats, but tells you less info.

    GSpot is mainly for AVI files, and doesn't really work on anything else.

    I'd also add VideoInspector and MPEG Inspector.

    What version of GSpot are you referring to? I specifically pointed MelVic at v2.52 as it handles MPEGs, and pretty well in my experience.

    Hmmm... I was using an old 2.21 version. Perhaps that's the problem.

    EDIT: 2.21 was the last official release version. MPG support was added in 2.5x, which are beta versions.

    That's right. The beta version has been out for absolutely ages and I've never had any trouble with it, nor have I seen anyone else reporting any problems - so I feel comfortable recommending its use.
