while in CA i got a alchemyDVR card for my G4 dual and hooked it up to comcastt cable. no problemo even after I split the cable to go to the comp/ then vcr and small tv
Im back in MA with the same comp and card and comcast here
the alchemyDVR tuner does not 'see' the tv as it tunes. I know that the cable was set up wrong as I do not get cable channel 2 ( static) and cable 4 is fuzzy
the 'cable guy' dif ones have been out here twice and will be back tomorrow. they said that the tv card needed more signal than on cable ( I doublt this and I doubt they know anyting about the card) and they said the simple spliter would degrade the signal
Alchemy support in England has not answered me and Id like to know if the alchemy card needs a signal from cable channel 2 to set itself uup porperly. I get on the alchemy card only cable channel 5 it seems, sstatic on the rest
a complicated question but maybe someonw had similar problems?
cheers rotuts
