  1. I have noticed that almost all of my DVDr backups lately using DVDShrink (3.2.0.15) start locking up on playback in all of my players, 4 different brands near the 1h 30m+ mark.

I tried CloneDVD2, and in one trial it did not lock up at the same place in standalone playback like the DVD Shrink disc did.

Here are things I have tried, because I would still prefer to use DVDShrink so I can join 2 short movies together, apply 'smoothness' on those bigger DVD9 to 5 shrinks, and re-author effectively.

    1) tried 2 different media types, RitekG05s, Prodisc MCC-type. The Prodisc using CloneDVD2 worked 100%
    2) tried slower burn speeds
    3) tried DVDDecrypter to rip to hard drive 1st, then shrink it
    4) used Nero DVDVideo to burn
    5) it's a Lite-on drive
    6) tried to use DVDShrink to create .iso for burning
    7) used DVDDecrypter to burn the .iso
    8) also used Nero to burn the .iso
    9) tried different PCs
    10) used 'custom' size on DVDShrink to make DVD 4300MB instead of maximum size to try and eliminate errors towards the end of the disk which seems to be happening.

anyone else have this issue with DVDShrink and decide to use something else like CloneDVD2?

should I try an older archived version of Shrink like 2.3 some people say?

    Thank you.

Yeah, it sounds like a media problem, not a software problem.

I don't really trust prodisc or ritek anymore.

Ritek use to be good or I got lucky for a few months and got good packs.
    snappy phrase

    I don't know what you're talking about.

I expect it is a media issue as stated above. Try looking up your standalone in the DVD Players section to see what media others report works/doesnt work.

  6. I have only used 2 types of media since 'the beginning' - Prodisc (MMCs) and Ritek G05s, so I just ordered some Taiyo Yudens from Supermediastore.com being that there receive a lot of praise.

I will post the 'results' and I appreciate the feedback.

    Happy New Year
