Hello,
I usually use the free bitrate calculator that is available via these forums however, I have run across a problem. The output for DVD assumes that are using 720x480 output, doesn't it? How do I use the calculator to calculate the bitrate for a half D1 DVD? Or, is there a formula that one can use to figure the bitrate for a certain length of video?
Thanks,
Mark

Half D1 makes no difference. If you want to find the max bitrate to fit on a dvd, you only need to calculate the length and the type of audio stream.
However with Half D1 you can usually use a lower bitrate to achieve similar results as full D1.
