  1. Is there a way to convert 4:3 format to 16:9 format. The reason I want to do this is that I am capturing all my DV-tapes to a HD. However I have one tape on which I have made some texts and effects in Ulead vs 6 and obviously these effects have changed these small parts of the DV-tape to 4:3.
When I capture the tape there is no sound captured from the point where there is 4:3 and to the end of the tape. I have tried WINDVand DV10. Also UVS6 but it does not work at all. Neither Pinnacle 9 which stops.

AFAIK VS6 doesn't support 16:9. The 16:9 is in the header of the video file, when you edit it in VS6 it changes it to 4:3 as you have guessed.

This can be changed back to 16:9 if your authoring program allows you to specify 16:9. How to just change the header in the AVI is something I've been searching for myself, there's app for doing it with Mpeg called restream but I haaven't come across one for DV-AVI.
