  1. I had a question for any owners of the ilo dvdr05 recorder. I recently got one and was hoping I got the model capable of divx/xvid playback.

I had read that the ZU model was the one that allowed for such playback, but I got the MU1 version instead. But to my suprise, it picks up and will play divx/xvid, at least it starts to. thats where my other question comes in.

It will start to play a file and I will see a few seconds of the video, then it will just skip to the next video and do the same thing. I am wondering if this has anything to do with the use of GMC or QPEL by whoever encoded the xvid file.

If that is the case, how do I check my xvid files to see if they indeed use those things and if so, how would I go about removing or fixing them. Would I have to re-encode somehow? Thanks

  3. cool, thats a great program for checking files for those two things.

but it sucks becuase some of the anime im trying to test appears to not work and those files come up as OpenDML avi files and that app doesnt support that.

is there anyway to convert the opendml type to a regular one that i can then check/modify?

  4. Try repacking with VirtualDubMod. Put VirtualDub into Video -> Direct Stream Copy mode and Audio -> Direct Stream Copy mode. Then Save as AVI.

If the file is bigger than 2GB try splitting it into <2GB chunks with VirtualDubMod. Select "Segment Output File" on the File Save dialog.
