    You can't split it across 2 discs without reauthoring (or follow some DVD9 to 2 DVD5 guide), but you could run the files on HDD thru DVDShrink to make 'em fit one disc.
    You're basically facing the same problem as backing up a DVD9 to DVD5.

    To reauthor ,that means to start from begginning and use the raw footage and edit my footage? When will i know that Iam to my limit of space? Because while your editing your movie there is no warning or any thing that lets you know that you are gone more than what 1 dvd can hold. and than i adds menus and than next step is make movie ,,by that time the movie is rendered into one big video isnt it? Thanks for the help though, and ill give that program a try,{dvd shrink}

    Authoring is the process of taking the finished video and audio and making it into a format that DVD players can understand. If you look at 'What is' DVD to the upper left, you can see what that format is. It doesn't change the video or audio, just adds chapters, menus, etc. It's a relatively quick process. I use a separate program for it, TMPGEnc DVD Author.

    If your video size is just a little too large, DVDShrink is a good way to reduce it. If it's way too large, like 8GBs, you definitely want to split it to two discs to preserve quality.

    To change the size of a video, you adjust the 'bitrate' which also determines the quality. The all-in-one programs don't give you many options there. That's why I use individual programs to edit, encode and author. But it takes a bit of reading to understand it all.
