I could be wrong, but I cannot recall any one tool that will capture, encode, author and burn and is freeware, unless of course you mean ... ... "free" ... ...
    If in doubt, Google it.

    Whoaaaa, not touching that ...

I prefer seperate tools for each stage of the process from a control and flexibility point of view, but I also have NeoDVD which can do everything in one. There's also a number of Ulead products which can as well AFAIK.
    If in doubt, Google it.

    Hi ray316,

Like jimmalenko says, I don't believe there's an all-in-one that'll do everything. However:

    1) Cam to PC: WinDV (free)
    2) Basic editing: VirtualDub (free). Slightly more advanced editing: AVID Free DV (free).
    3) Encoding to MPEG2 for DVD: DivxtoDVD (US$30) - I've never used it, but I hear it's a good one from the "all-in-one" bunch of tools. There are free ones - read up and try 'em out.
    4) Authoring: GUI for DVD Author (free) - I've not used this, but it's regularly recommended as a free tool.
    5) Burning: DVD Decrypter (free).

I myself, again like jimmalenko, prefer seperate tools for specific jobs.
There is some corner of a foreign field that is forever England: Telstra Stadium, Sydney, 22/11/2003.

    Carpe diem.

If you're not living on the edge, you're taking up too much room.
