Apologies if this has been posted before, but a search of the forum yields nothing...

I bought a JVC DR-M10 a few months ago - it was a refurbished model. Until recently it's been working great and I haven't had any of the 'loading' problems as mentioned elsewhere on this forum. But recently I've noticed a problem. I bought a pack of Rivision RW disks (Media ID PRODISK) and at first these were fine. But now I'm finding that after recording and erasing maybe four or five times on a disk, the recorder either won't record at all (or records about a minute and then stops), or the recording is severely disrupted when being played back. For example, it freezes, skips around, or bits of the recording become pixellated and lose the sound, or sometimes there is a few seconds of a program that was on the disk previously and that I'd erased. I've tried reformatting the affected disks but the same thing happens. The problem doesn't occur with new disks.

Could this be a problem with the disks or with the recorder? I have a couple of RAM disks and have not noticed a problem with these yet. The problem is always worse towards the start of the first program on a disk, presumably at the part which has been recorded over the most, which maybe suggests that the disks aren't lasting very long.

I'm going to try some different disks but thought I'd post and see if the same thing has happened to anyone else. All info gratefully received!

I have some Fuji made-in-Singapore DVD-RW that I bought in July 2004 same time as my JVC DR-M10. I have recorded, formatted them multiple times, and they still work fine.

The Fuji DVD-RW now are made-in-Taiwan though.
