    hi all,

    probably quite a simple one this for those of you in the know...

    iv'e got a number of music videos in avi that i want to edit down into a playlist for a new years eve party, my question is threefold;

    1. can you recomend some simple editing software (i just want to split some tracks so i can mix them up)
    2. because alot of the videos are from different source's the audio's at different levels for each seperate video, what can i use to normalise the audio on all the video tracks

    3. what (if there is one) is the best playback software specifically for music videos (real and bs player seem to be struggling with some of them and the sound quality is variable)

    thanks in advance

    VirtualDub is at the top of most peoples' list.

    Save out only the .WAV audio from each clip, and normalize it through any audio editor..Remerge the newly normalized .WAV file, to a new .AVI file..

    That might depend on the codec (Compressor/decompressor) that the video is compressed with.
    DivX seems to be popular. Windows media should suffice.

    Of course, by the wonderful description of your computer details, i can see that it's impossible to assist you any futher.. :P

    Good luck!!!

    PowerDVD if it's interlaced video. Visually that give the best playback IMO.
