hi there,
myself and a friend both own, Panasonic E50 and E55 DVD recorders - we both sometimes get a failure when copying the .vro (dvd-ram format) files to our PC's
sometimes they work, sometimes, they file....
we cant work out why>.
anyone know!??

This is a known issue with Panasonic DVD recorders. Some people (including me) have found the .VRO files from the Panasonic DVD-RAM recordings to be buggy and not work very well on the PC.
The new Panasonic units like the DMR-ES10 and DMR-ES20 are now able to record to DVD-RW in standard DVD-Video format, which eliminates this problem. If you otherwise like the Panasonic recorders, you might want to get one of the newer ones.
Another thing to try... download TMPGEnc DVD Author and try it out for 30 days for free. It is a DVD re-authoring application that accepts DVD-RAM sources as is. That might work for you.
