  1. I am trying to make image files of dvd on the video tab of Toast and it crashes every time.

I have tried with .avi with mp3 audio, or with ac3 audio and i just crashes.

I could make to images yesterday one with mp3 audio and the other with ac3 audio and they are ok.

But today nothing works. yesterday I "degrade" from Quicktime 7.0.3 to 7.0.1 and after that I could make the 2 images.

I do not know what the problem is; maybe is something with Little Snitch? I don't know, i do not let Toast call home, but the rest is the same as yesterday.

    Any fellow with a clue?

    Cheers,

    M.

  2. My guess is you have the AC3Codec.component from insaneness.com installed. It will cause Toast and QT to crash with AC3 audio. It's an apple bug.

  3. yes I have the AC3Codec.component, should I send it to the trash?
If i do so, would i be able to make dvds from .avi with ac3 audio? for playing on standalone dvd,

    Thanks for the tip,

    M.

  4. You will need to go back to QT 7.0.1 for the AC3Codec to work. Or, you will need to wait for an Apple update.

  5. But I am on QT 7.0.1 and I could make images just once, after that Toast crashes every time.

Do not know what to do.

  7. Do you think is a bug or something that can be repaired with DiskWarrior or some utility or maybe is got something to do with .avi files and Toast?

Toast still crashes every time that I try to make a DVD from video files (.avi), either with ac3 or mp3.

    I am on QT 7.0.1

Do not know what else to do.

I'm a little confused about what you're trying to do. As I understand it you want to have Toast make a regular video DVD from an AVI file. Apparently you have some AVI's that have AC3 audio and some that have mp3 audio. Using either file causes Toast to crash at some point - probably at the start of encoding. Is this accurate?

On Roxio's Toast 7 forum Freshburn stated that "Toast doesn't support Divx with AC3." So that leaves the question why the one with mp3 audio won't work either. Maybe you should try processing the AVI with Divx Doctor II and drag the resulting video to Toast.

  9. You got ir right Frobozz.

I have already tried using Divx Doctor II but I get an error (not movie found).

    Thanks,
