Watched the first and second seasons as they created them. I even have the DVDs. After that I kinda fell out of watching it, to me it lost some of its humor.

Yeah it was funny. as time went by I quoted a bunch of the dialogue. A lot of the kids think it was funnier with all the swearing. What do kids know. It's writing is falling downhill. But the writers aren't regular professionals. It's not like they're making an actual TV show. but it's pretty good for what it is. I got the DVDs to get a laugh with my friends here & there.

I'm hardly a kid and honestly... it was better with all the swearing.

Sure it added, but not as much as one would think IMO. The joke and the meaning is still there. If there's laugh factor for the swearing then I'm the greatest comedian when I get upset. :P

The problem was that after they changed it that it felt forced to me. As in.. yeah people like us, now we have this demo on these xbox kiosk and stuff and we are getting alot of attention and so we'll tone it down.

At the same time they continued to have issues with divx encodes and even talked about switching to wmv instead. It felt like a total sell out. I and others even noted as much on their forum.

I have to agree with Faustus and his "forced" comment.

IMO it has nothing to do with the swearing (or lack of), it's just not as funny as it once was.

I'll agree with the FORCED part. The last 2 seasons are a bit lacking from the first, but I just don't think it's the swearing that made the difference.

A casual swear here & there might be a hint towards a realistic quality, but when they are swearing as much as they do, you might as well, be on grounds at a real military base.
