  2. This offer is also available in Best Buy stores as an "instant rebate."

    $2 bucks a disc...any cheaper media...?

  4. Any cheaper? For a retail store this is the cheapest I've seen Verbatim or any DL discs. Usually it's the Memorex branded DL discs that go for $2 a pop.

Two dollars a piece is a good price for reliable media. Quality D-VHS and S-VHS tapes cost more.

  6. They're only cheap if you can buy them. The web site sold out. My local stores sold out. No rain checks, no restocking. I can't prove that they ever really had them.

I went to the Best Buy store on the east side of the town where I live and they were out. A salesperson checked the computer and said the west side store had seven units. So I drove the 12 miles to the west side store to find out: "There must be something wrong with out computer, cause we haven't had any all day."

When they have CD cakeboxes on sale, they suually have a hundred or so; even DVD-R are usually hyped with dozens of units. But everytime they have this Verbetim DL ten pack, they never seem to have inventory.

My question was more based upon the fact that
DL burners have had a long period of saturation
( DL brning started with the -108, and now we have the -110,
so that's what like, 2-3 years?)
In comparison to 12x and 16x media, roughly six months
after the release of their respective burners, the -108
and the -109, Media prices dropped like [snaps fingers] that!

I had just thought DL saturation had matured to the point that media
    was cheaper. My mistake.

They do exist. I had to call two different stores but I found them at the second best buy store.
A picture is worth a thousand words, but a good camera is worth about a thousand bucks.

  11. The bestbuy.com site now lists the verbatim dl disks as "back ordered" instead of sold out. So if your patient, you can get them on line.
